"Young Black Man"

Young Black Man has the world in his hand

Working with a purpose because he knows he is worth it

Born poor and black -- but didn't let that hold him back

Young Black Man stepping in stride

Pride shining in his eyes

An occasional "Boy, don't you know you're Black?"

Simply phrased - "Yeah, an I am proud about that."

Cheated, pushed, looked over for the raise

Keeping in mind -- simply phrased

"I'll show you one day."

Young Black Man making a change

Not letting anyone keep you from your dreams

Young Black Man

They just don't understand

Took two steps forward -- they pushed you back four

Came back around -- you took eight more

They don't want you to have no drive

You'll become their boss

That's why there is fear in their eyes...

Young Black Man

You ain't got no gun

Your weapon is the strongest one

You have a mind that is outshining their kind

You just smile

And take their so-called "Limitations"

And push them aside

Young Black Man

Just look at you rise

Shining with the glow of Black Pride
