WORKFORCE  DIVERSITY

This workshop will help your participants recognize the ways in which your organization
is changing, evolving, and becoming more diverse. It is designed to help them
identify their own biases and also stereotypes they may hold which get in the way of
dealing with others who are from different cultures, have different lifestyles, or hold
different opinions and values. This program will demonstrate the value of diversity in the
workplace, in your schools, and provide your participants with the tools and skills
necessary to work comfortably in a diverse environment.


Participant Objectives


Upon successful completion of this course, the participants will be able to:
 
Understand the implications of the demographic changes on their organization.
 
Have greater awareness of their values, attitudes, and behaviors, and the impact these
       have on others.
 
Recognize biases and stereotypes based on gender, race, religion, age, culture, disability
       and lifestyle.
 
Make changes in attitudes and behaviors which are not conducive to working effectively
       with others.
 
Ask questions and respond to questions dealing with differences.
 
Recognize verbal— - and nonverbal aspects of communication which may impede
      working relations.
 
Find resources for their continued development.
 
Develop solutions to some diversity problems in their work place.
