The original conception of Intrinsicideas4u was thru a man named Michael Cole, a hair stylist living in Minneapolis. He was originally from Chicago Illinois. Mr. Cole was the owner of Intrinsic’s Hair Salon back in late 1987. Now Charles Sneed had moved to Minneapolis in the summer of 1987, looking for what he thought was to be the next "come up”. Prior to moving to Minneapolis Charles was working for J.C.Penney as a visual merchandiser This was the first retail position that would turn out to be one of two that he held, prior to Intrinsicideas4u. In these positions Charles had hopes for learning all that he could. Charles did well at corp. task as well as exceeded in visual contest company wide. His first contest win was for the launch of "Glorious Gloria" where the Legendary Gloria Vanderbilt was presents herself for the launch. The second was for the fragrance launch of Xia Xiang, which snagged Charles a $500 CD player (which at the time was the latest technology). After having a feeling of accomplishment, Charles partnered with his friend Michael Cole from Minneapolis. Charles was hired by Michael to manage his salon Intrinsics. Even though there was a sense of accomplishment there something just wasn’t right. After months of adjusting, the reality that home just wasn’t in Minneapolis became too much for Charles, so he headed back to Detroit Re-connecting with J.C.Penney.

Charles rehired to a second Penney location for the next 10 years. While back in the Detroit area Charles started to get involved in local community support agencies. One of the most noted was the fund raiser he hosted at his Detroit home for the Rafiki care agency as well as Men of color. In addition to that he also hosted a few other well noted events in Detroit. During the book tour for author James Earl Hardy (B Boy Blues), Charles hosted the most attended event that summer at his home for Mr. Hardy (it was a great success).there was even a dinner party thrown at his home for the wonderful Barbara Walden (owner/creator of Barbara Walden cosmetics) Over the years he also got involved in the community food drop for seniors as well as having an active participation for feeding the hungry (which he still does in the Atlanta area). During the "wonder years" as he calls it, Charles also developed relationships with some of Detroit’s entertainment community such as dancers for Aretha Franklin, Celeb Impersonators, The hair show community, Local favorites such as Carmen Carpenter(Detroit’s own Tina Turner), the lovely Carol Hall ( 80z singer "As the beat goes on"),Detroit’s own DIVA ,WJZZ on air personality Madison and many others.

After even more noted success it was time to redirect. Atlanta was the spot and IntrinsicIdeas4u was the dream, and so it grew. When relocation was complete, it was time for him to see what the A had to offer. Signing on for a third Penney location he worked there another 3yrs and during the last yr freelanced with the Saks Fifth Avenue Co. Working in the fashion office under Susan Forhand, he learned all the intricate details that went into a 30 minute runway show......pulling, fitting, dressing, styling etc. After a year Charles was able to secure one of the coveted visual Also positions in the company .In the initial interview Charles was told he would be scheduled for a second interview, but 2omns later he was offered a position on the spot. When he had been brought into the company , it had been thru working partnerships with mentors such as Javier Tolbert of Clark Atlanta University, Cassandra Wilson and Jean Murphy of the Murphy Group). Thanks to all that these folk had exposed Charles to he still wanted more. Now he had been expose to other working partnerships with people such as Sue Carpenter(Cumberland mall Marketing Director) now running her own business Carpenter n Co., Ken Berman of k. Berman and Association as well as ken Barber manager of Y3 as well as his own couture men’s collection Boutique. By 2005 Charles was doing holiday decorations for clients such as Michael and Claudia Aquino (former Saks Fifth Ave CEO.), Wayne Gandy (of the Atlanta Falcons.) Detroit born author Brent Dorian Carpenter(Man of the Cloth,This Time Around several other novels as well as several comic series). At the moment Charles focuses on a few small long-term residential properties but is always looking to take on new projects. His involvement in community development is constant and growing. If there is a need for help or just help with your project you can certainly expect to see him busy and involved.
